That's my fear too.
This humiliation and the fact that the CWU has plastered it all over social media will likely only further entrench his position. Going by his Workplace comments he shows classic red flags for a malignant narcissist.

I'm not sure the union knows what it is dealing with in Simon Thomson, backing him into a corner is a dangerous game.

Team - I don't remember any "booing" - but no doubt the atmosphere wasn't good - but as the CWU Rep said to me, "it has been a lot worse in the past" - ouch! - today was my third visit to the Peterborough DO - accepting today might have been an off day - I cannot imagine it is a fun place to work - it shouldn't be that way - but, the team all agree the new electric vans are a good thing.

....I must say - a big thank you to the members of the team - that came up for a chat - and the one's that said it is great to work at Royal Mail in Peterborough.

Time to reflect on what to do - I don't believe we can leave this office - as it is.

A big thank you to the local managers - it was great to chat.

BTW - do you feel that a union - posting that "booing" the CEO of a company - is appropriate behaviour - and aligned with the societal norms in 2022?
