Dividend cut off date

I want to buy some more royal mail shares so my dividend payment in sept will increase.
What's the cut off date for buying shares to qualify for the dividend payout in sept.

Some ppl say this week others say 2 days before they pay the dividend!
What's the answer guys?

Its called the ex-dividend date, anyone holding shares on that date will get the dividend. 28 Jul 22 according to this https://www.fidelity.co.uk/factsheet-da ... /dividends
Royal Mail

Because the profits from GLS are funding it
