Overtime

Post by Postman91 »

Hi, seeking advise for me and my office.
Our manager has recently gone off sick, no problems there. However the OPG who works indoors and does the wages has done the same, before he left he changed the computer password with access to the wages to pay days off and other overtime and is not contacting anyone. He is off this week and on annual leave next week.
Two weeks without any overtime being paid especially in a cost of living crisis can not be right just because he won’t give up the computer password.
Thanks

Keep a record of the OT you've done and dont do anymore as of now, of course i realise you may need the money but it may be that if you cant prove you've done OT you wont get paid for it

I'm sure the IT helpdesk should be able to help in this circumstance by resetting the windows password

Sounds ridiculous....so in theory any disgruntled manager (or whoever does the overtime) could in theory change the password, quit their job and that’s the end of overtime.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

True it’s a specialist role which may even pay leadership allowance (correct me if I’m wrong )

DOM Support is OPG Grade, if you read the original post is says OPG who works indoors.

I did read it. And I can tell you now, our overtime is booked by a manager. Not an OPG. Two managers in our office.

Well in our office the o/t sheets were checked and authorised by a manager before being entered onto the system by the dom support chap.

The bigger units use OPG's to enter the overtime, some units have 6 or 7 managers. The managers could do it themselves as they once did, but got sick of having to deal with pay enquiries every Thursday morning when the pay slips landed.

Like a lot of areas at Royal Mail, we ignored the Data protection act of 2018. Passwords always get shared and are used from the staff who have even left the business
