Our office is allowing everyone to come in a whole 40 minutes earlier on those days. Yayyyy. We are saved.
P.S. they can stuff it. I’ll start normal time thank you.

I’m sure that in the areas affected it will be tracks and specials only for both Monday/Tuesday. They are saying that even fit, young healthy people could be affected. RM would be heartless bastards if they send us out in 40c heat. Knowing RM though, they will still say something like “we expect you to make up the time later in the week”

It doesn’t really matter what they do - they are used to very hot weather. We are not.

Generally they go out in the coolest parts of the day (ie before 10am or after 4pm)

I'm pretty sure RM don't give a rats arse about us. Luckily, they probably do care about the bad publicity of posties dropping dead/ending up in hospital, so my guess would be that there'll be a cut-off off either 10:30 or 11am and everyone finishes then (in the red weather zone). Obviously that doesn't mean the morons in charge won't expect a totally unrealisrtic amount to be done by that time  !

They don't walk for 5 hours in the sun.
Nobody would be that stupid.
90% of postal routes in Australia are serviced by motorcycle, like the US addresses have a box at the gate, rural addresses at the road end.
Not being funny but entirely different job.
