RMCtv : The impacts of climate change on our business

Post by POSTMAN »

Environment Lead at Royal Mail Group

This is a genuine question because I'm looking into the impacts of climate change on our business:

How does a heatwave like the one we will see affect our business.
I'm trying to estimate things like - extra time needed for posties (heat will affect this) - usually means more overtime right? Is there anything else you think I have missed?

POSTMAN EDIT: I'll pass your comments on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The need to felx earlier in the day to avoid going out at the warmest part of the day ( ie between 11am-3pm)
maybe a uso suspension so just parcels are done so people can avoid being out in it?

Rather than thinking about the impact climate change has on the business try thinking about the impact the business has on the climate.

Stop sending 30 vans into one area to lapse.

Try calling it what it is.

It's called Weather, Not climate change.
