Some offices have scheduled 20 minute indoor breaks before delivery as part of the revision process.

Just like most jobs if a break is planned into your work day the default position is you have to take it when it's planned if managers insist.

We shouldn't ignore some rules and then complain when management ignore others however it will depend on local arrangements.

That's exactly my routine, I don't want a break before I go out on delivery it's too early, so 20mins having sarnie/browsing 'tinternet in van at lunchtime, then back to finish on a 20min break which afaik is still the accepted rule.

It really won't.
The business has used early finishes as an incentive for 20 years since they removed the second delivery.

It is the only incentive they have to encourage people to complete deliveries. Without it they know they are completely screwed.

There's a lot of misunderstanding of what Royal Mail say they want and what they really want.

They don't want to pay overtime and they don't want people cutting off, think about it.

If they don't get annualised hours and it would be suicidal for the union if they agreed this there will be no clocking in or out in delivery offices.
