Final week of working for RM and what do they do to thank me for my service? Underpay me by 7 hours!!

As the title says this is my final week of being a postie. I will miss the job but I think we all know which way it's going.

Now my paychecks have been short in the past but never like this. 7 bloody hours. That's an entire days pay!! My last day is on Friday so I think they are banking on me not noticing until then which is the morning of my pay. I wouldn't have noticed until then had I not checked the people's app this morning. I don't feel like this is a mistake either it has happened too often to be a mistake. Funny enough... you never hear of this happening to the manager's favourites.

I feel like walking out right now and sending the manager a strongly worded text. But I have came this far, I don't want to cause a big commotion at the final hurdle but this is how I feel. I have only done a years service too so I can imagine how some of you veterans would feel if this was done to you.

I have a feeling my holiday pay will be incorrect too and I won't be around to correct it as I will be on holiday by the time it is paid.

All in all quite pissed off that they try us on like this. It should be illegal to be honest.

What can I do to ensure that this is corrected come Friday morning if anything as the wages have already been put through for the week? And who is responsible for this? Managers? Admin?

They’ve changed how holiday pay is paid I assume you mean your holidays that you still haven’t took which you will get paid on your last slip but there’s also some sort of holiday pay in this weeks pay slips if you can access your payslip online through the people app you should be able to see , as for your other holidays which you haven’t took that will just be a waiting game unless you contact HR beforehand

The latest backdated holiday pay from April until now as going forward any time folk take annual leave they get it paid that week/month depending on how they usually get paid. As Graham has mentioned if your O/t was last Friday afternoon through to Sunday it will be on the following weeks pay as the cut off was Friday morning sheets.

Have you taken any holidays this year? There's been many posts on this board regarding last pay being short and there's quite often a reason for it. A lot of people forget we don't work a week lying on so the pay we get on a thursday is for the week we are currently working. Overtime is a week later though I have never heard of it being fortnight later.

I left on the 11th June after 40 years went on holiday for 3 weeks came back to a letter from HR pay services that said i had been over paid by £158.50
and if they don't hear from me within 7 days there next step would be to instruct there solicitors to start legal action. Just remember you are only a number to Royal Mail.

No it was a claw back for a driving allowance.

So, if you handed your notice in on Monday morning and said you wished your last day to be Friday, given that you have said your day off is Saturday, you should still receive a full weeks basic pay as you are (I presume) on a five day week contract and will have actually worked five days Mon-Fri.

What the notice should have read is that you wish your last day of employment to be Saturday 9th July, with Saturday being your allocated rest day this week.
