Contract increase where do I stand

Post by Graham21 »

Hello all quick one really ; currently on a 20 hour contract but there are jobs up on the website for our depot for 30 hours which I would like to be increased to , I beleive interviews are already underway . Don’t have a dom in our office to mention it to have told a line manager and they said they will ask about it but this was a couple of weeks ago and still heard nothing more , main worry is that all the 30 hour contracts will go if it’s left too long . Is there not some sort of procedure for existing members of staff in situations like this ? Thanks

You or anyone else on less hours (seniority gets first choice) should have first option to increase hours before they bring anyone else in from outside.
As far as I know you just tell them you want it and they have to give it to you.

I'd contact HR straight away and explain it to them asap.

Other thing is get the rep involved to speak to dom / com/ lino?
