I know there is a thread on here discussing whether tracked items are prioritised over regular mail but cant find it, so I'll ask again, should tracked items take priority over regular mail. For example if I dont want to work over can I bring tracked back or do they need to be delivered at the expense of letters, thanks

Inform manager (before you go out on delivery) that you can't work over then follow their instructions as to what to do.
Don't make the decision yourself, that's what they're paid big bucks for.

Fail Mail has been the motto in our office for about 18 months.

The CEO and CWU have both publicly stated that Tracked items should not be prioritised over letters. Not long after they both issued a statement on it I had a conversation with a manager who was telling me to concentrate on delivering the parcels/packets (Tracked or not). I confirmed that he was telling me to forget about the letters no matter what they were, and to bring letters back if need be - and he confirmed it. RM don't care about letters.

However as everyone above has said. Follow the overrunning delivery procedure. Follow reasonable instructions and do 'as directed'

The flavour of the month changes from day to day and hour by hour in our place. So never assume you know what to leave.

I have heard with the introduction of the new COMs Simon won't be tolerating failure of any products if he is paying them 40k+ a year, so expect to see managers pounding the streets til dark.

Oh, they'd have to be really up against the wall to do that. Most of the time it'll just be pressuring OPGs to stay out until dark.

sorry to hear this, it's a tough call. I would suggest that it will be PCRs as always taking priority then todays T24 items then any failures from the previous day as we have seen on other occasions before. The resource for Sunday should be for Sunday items first.

How do you send something as tracked? Went to the post office and they thought I meant special delivery. Do you have to go direct to Royal Mail?

The tracked service isn't sold via post offices. You can buy it via the RM app or website though
