Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
As I’ve recently been told that tracked are the equivalent of letters. So is it just for the managers bonuses that when you tell them you are going to cut off they can get you just to do tracked ?

Re: Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
Royal Mail Group is committed to the USO and the delivery, collection and processing of letters, packets and parcels with equal status of importance and where we are experiencing challenges it is important that any required contingencies are agreed locally and must include all commercial and USO products and not priorities T24 and T48 parcels.
LTB 513/21 - Quality of Service for all Royal Mail USO and Commercial Products
Where there continue to be issues in relation to USO and Workplan failures across Delivery Offices it is important that the correct and jointly agreed processes are followed, the department would also request that we be informed of such instances to ensure these can continue to be raised with Royal Mail at the highest level.
LTB 078/17 - Royal Mail & CWU National Joint Statement Avoiding Delay (Commit to Deliver) and Reporting Standards

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
So in effect I was asked by my manager today to prioritise tracked for the last 45 mins for their bonuses even though all the mail is effectively equal ? If I didn’t do that is it a disciplinary offence ?

As wrong as it is probably yes as you would have decided to do as you like as opposed to what they instructed to do.Seagull1983 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2022, 15:19So in effect I was asked by my manager today to prioritise tracked for the last 45 mins for their bonuses even though all the mail is effectively equal ? Re: Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
I've questioned this before and was told by a manager "we don't get bonuses for getting them done, but it keeps us off the s**t list and ensures we don't get an abusive group call"
I still think it's bonuses
I still think it's bonuses

Like most I’ve been told to prioritise tracked unless told otherwise for the last… 9 months?

I read the link and it’s says any mail should not be streamed. Do I presume that means tracked as well ?

Re: Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
All the managers have gave a s**t about the last two years are tracked.
We do single duties in our office, not pairs, and whenpeople are off sick and we’re understaffed - which is a lot of the time - we have OPG’s doing two rounds worth of tracked to attempt to cover it up - no Mail will go out...
unless the parcels are very light and there’s time to do it.
Tells you everything you need to know. It’s about fudging figures and bonuses.
On the bright side though, it’s less walking to do

So were my manager have lied to me and said “it’s a rumour made up by the CWU” could that be grounds for disciplinary action ?

Re: Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
As a previous poster said carry out the manager's instructions - the reason and/or fallout is their concern.Seagull1983 wrote: ↑29 Jun 2022, 11:34So were my manager have lied to me and said “it’s a rumour made up by the CWU” could that be grounds for disciplinary action ?
Yes it's wrong to stream but that's where we are in this badly run s**tshow.

Whistle blowing : Royal Mail speak up
We want to encourage an environment where colleagues feel safe to call out behaviour that goes against our values.

Re: Can you be told to prioritise tracked ?
We shouldnt be prioritising anything as all mail is equal including d2ds.
In reality we get "encouraged" to get specials & tracked done.
I believe is slightly bonus related but also to keep their managers off their backs. Easy one wants an easy life
Tracks clearly show its been scanned into the office and if its been failed. Non-tracks dont.
