It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

WPCs, worth every penny if only for their comedy value.
1356 delivery offices
Let's say 2 work shy coaches per d.o.
= 2712
X how much they get extra per week
£40 (approx)
= £108,480
X52 weeks per year
£5 640 960.
Small price to pay for raising office morale.

The two offices i worked at have at least 4 WPCs. One at my current office can’t even do a delivery.

And why oh why isn't the wpc allowance one that they want to get rid of ?
It's the most glaringly obvious waste of money allowance ever.

We use these but every time the WORK PLACE COACH uses a van with one in, said person who gets nearly £40 per week to show us how to use them just throws it in the back and puts the mail on the front seat!!!!

Hahahaha... so many bitter people moaning about workplace coaches and their extra £40 a week. Fair play to them, the position was open for everyone to apply. You snooze your lose.

Yes, same at our place, when the wpc role reared its ugly head 10 years or whatever it was ago at the time it was announced that anyone could enquire but it turned out that the "phg" who can't possibly go out on a walk plus two of the equally brown nosed then manager's favourites were the successful candidates, to date none of them have taken a new starter with them although I did see one of them showing a newbie the way to the bogs so that probably counts.postieblueshirt wrote: ↑26 Jun 2022, 12:43Ha ha nieve person it all depends how corrupt your office is most if like mine it was cut n dried before anyone knew about it.number one wrote: ↑26 Jun 2022, 12:06Hahahaha... so many bitter people moaning about workplace coaches and their extra £40 a week. Our office could do with a WPCC. If they can get an extra 2k a year for coming round every few months and reading from a piece of paper to tell us about some "massive changes" then I could probably sponge an extra 3k for explaining it to them so they know what the f**k they're talking about.
Fortunately when I started I already knew how a PDA worked because I'm not sure I'd be any wiser after my training day.

WPC at our place lost his £40 per week role because he wasn't training newbies properly.wrongturn wrote: ↑26 Jun 2022, 15:06WPC at our place is laughable. happily collect his what is it £30 extra a week but he'll be damned if he has to do anything extra in the week to warrant it. and what is it, u get given wpc and you can enver have it taken off u? ours turns his nose up as soon as new starter joins that he might have to help

That's good to hear your office is probably not run like most due to old pals or they go bowling together there favoured because there dad worked there etc etc.but seriously it's good to know it was taken away for the right reasons.
