Leave Sheet 2023/2024

Post by thomas1960 »

Hi all

Was just handed the leave sheet for 2023/2024 by my line manager today and told to book my first allocation of 2 weeks and return to him tomorrow morning, how can plan and book next years 2 week slot annual leave within less than 24 hours (was working until 5pm), find it all a bit strange considering I still have to take my first annual leave of 22 yet!
Are all offices the same or is my line manager being unreasonable?

Thanks

Your manager is an arse.1 day turn around lol
See last years LTB on AL, most of it would still be relevant.
Get your rep on the case.
LTB 387/21 - CWU/Royal Mail Joint Statement Covering Annual Leave Planning (April 2022 to March 2023)

Once the unit plan is agreed, these local office annual leave arrangements will be shared with frontline colleagues so
they can choose their holiday weeks and allocation of leave completed by the 31st of October in line with section 4 of
the Way Forward Agreement.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The minority aren’t taking the piss ,.they’ve just got no other way of attending weddings, christenings etc because of the inept inflexible leave system that is in place.

He’s talking thru his rectum. By line manager u mean COM or DCOM. Your rep and COM should plan what leave slots are available for the 2023 leave year starting September time. This is triggered normally by letters to branches. Speak to your rep.

My previous leave sheet to 31/03/2023 Remaining balance 53.07.
This leave sheet from 01/04/2023 balance carried forward 52.17.

In any other world the carried forward would be the same as ending balance on the previous sheet, I guess the world of RM is different.

Things like this do make you wonder how often mistakes are made (perhaps deliberately) and people dont notice.
