Re: D2d mail down.
Although I would agree that mail volumes have declined over the years I have been a postie there now seems to be a lot more than there has been over the last couple of years since Corona virus started. I also haven't heard anything about the mail volumes dropping off lately. Could this be a coincidence?

Re: D2d mail down.
Mail volumes have increased hugely in the past 2 years.
It's just that this can't be used to beat us with, hence the non reporting of it.

Depends what dates you choose them from. Kind of like what RM do.

That’s not what RM reported to the stock market.

I can tell that they're down from the sizes of the batches we put through the CSS. If it weren't for the number of DPs on a batch we'd probably have started running multiple batches together.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 21:14That’s not what RM reported to the stock market.

Re: D2d mail down.
I'm going to be completely honest here.
Letters are significantly down over the past couple of years.
So is D2D.
It might just be my area.
It is what it is.
Doesn't mean the delivery side is any easier, one letter or five letters for a door I'm still walking the same distance.
There I've said it.

Re: D2d mail down.
Some of the drop in letters might be down to people working from home, maybe getting documents sent to them electronically rather than posting. Back when the current data protection regs came in, we saw a big drop in letters thenWoody Guthrie wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 21:26I'm going to be completely honest here.

I've noticed that over the last few months I've received way less D2D in the post

Re: D2d mail down.
It's the opposite for me, all I seem to receive his D2D's or personally addressed junk mail, I rarely get any normal letters, you have to sense the drop in mail could well be business mail, letters to households doesn't seem to have fallen to me. Whilst packets/parcels maybe the biggest financial generators we still deliver an hell of a lot of mail each day.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 21:31Some of the drop in letters might be down to people working from home, maybe getting documents sent to them electronically rather than posting.
