Hi one of my mates was doing his van run, when he returned to his van 2 RMCS staff where there he had 2 specials in the front seat and the van was unlocked, what if anything can he say to help himself? He has been in RM for about 4-5 yrs good record till this. Is there any mitigating circumstances he can use?

i rmember when i use to get a lift into work by this perosn that told me, that he left his van ulocked while he went up some flats, and the IB caught him leaving the van unlocked! anyway, he got a 12 month supervision order given against him! The thing is he didnt learn and 6 months later did it again! which led to him being sacked!

I've been pulled in a stop check before, and luckly i had everything in order.
Asked the IB dudes what would of happened if stuff was in the front ect and they said that for a 1st offence i would of just been counselled,ie the DOM would of just had a word.
Your mate should get away with it,but needs to buck his ideas up.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You'd never know now with them (after all they do seem to be trying to get rid of FT staff)POSTMAN wrote:I've been pulled in a stop check before, and luckly i had everything in order.
