Are any other units having discussions regarding call rate percentages for their walks?
I had issue today where in informed COM i would be unable to complete and he then came back saying according to his tablet that my duty had only 59% call rate for today so i should have no problems completing my duty.
I looked at his spreadsheet which stated how many delivery points i had, how many had letter / parcel and then percentage of delivery points i was to attend. I could not check my duty as i had already tied up - but it was not light!
COM says spreadsheet gets data from CSS machines , and other machines , think ILSM / UIMP.
Was ended with saying if i was unable to complete then discussion would be held tomorrow, which is fine as im pretty sure 59% was incorrect.
COM also relayed message to another member of staff who had similar issues.
My main gripe is data seems to be wrong, and the data is seemingly being abused by the COM.
Rep was also informed and explained it was a new thing that he had little knowledge off

Re: Delivery Performance - Call Rate Calculator
See them before you tie up to count your calls
How do they know how much d2ds you doing.
Plus how do they know how long your round is if it has never been walk tested.
I had this discussion with my DOM when he said my walk was 4 and a half hours.
I reminded him that it WAS 4 and a half hours before we started lapsing ,
was timed with an average of 6 large parcels,
before we had a PDA,
and photo capture,
before emptying post boxes
and before collections.

Word to the wise, the ONLY way to challenge the data is to do it while the mail is still in the frame.
Prove them wrong a few times and they will eventually leave you alone to judge it yourself.

Re: Delivery Performance - Call Rate Calculator
There is no way to accurately do a call rate with manual mail or packets added to the mix.
The only mail in your frame that gives an accurate call rate is sequenced, the rest is guesswork.
At the end of the day there's no recognised outdoor performance standard so 59%, 49% or 39% is essentially meaningless.
As long as you didn't finish early or stop for a burger you've worked your hours to the best of your ability, end of conversation.

Yes seems odd , but believe there is pressure on COMs to get more blood out of a stone and they seem to be using this as another stick to beat you with.
I did ask how long this this 59% should take to deliver then and was given no answer , so agreed that it seems meaningless but it will make newer staff members feel unduly pressurised which is wrong
