Somebody in work said there going for voluntary redundancy. NON management is this possible.

If your office is having a revision and the result of that revision is the need to remove staff, (reduce the headcount) then VR may be offered.
You can't just decide you would like to leave and think it would be nice to get a payout.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It’s possible,but it will definitely go on seniority.

I remember a load of old boys going on VR just as I started,approximately 20yrs ago. They all had 30+ years in
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

It's very unusual in delivery these days.
Reducing headcount by freezing recruitment is much cheaper.

Absolutely correct, approx 8 years ago they gave two redundancies at our place, it was after a revision, two seniors got 43k or so each, fast forward a couple of months and we were back short staffed taking on new starters.
