Just over a year to go.
Before I reach 60, with 33 years in now, can I make it in this job to collect it, without giving them any by taking it early?

Re: Just over a year to go.
Short answer is No.
Wait till 60 or you will lose a big chunk.
If the job is affecting your mental or physical health see your GP I’m sure they will sympathise.

36 years in and feel your pain. Not physically but mentally. I can’t wait to get out. I have a few years yet but I’m looking for a new job everyday. Just waiting for the knees or back to start hurting. I’m sure my time will come as 50% of my place have bad backs, knees, mental stress. I just think we are so lucky to work for someone who cares about mental health.

Re: Just over a year to go.
UK society is f**ked up. People live in pain and misery for years and wish time away because they can’t afford to retire early, while young and fit people can’t get jobs. The retirement age should be younger for those in physical roles at least. But pensions are getting smaller, wages aren’t keeping up with the cost of living and the retirement age keeps going up. God knows why we put up with it.

You’re both right. I’ve told my daughter who is 15yrs old & very academic (takes after her mum
) to perhaps leave this god forsaken country as soon as her education is finished. There is simply nothing here for the working class. With this lot in power & no decent opposition,so to speak…I can’t see the situation improving any time soon! What a sorry state of affairs
“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

Inflation is high currently, which is unquestionably making life difficult for people, but nothing here for the working class? Your daughter will do well to find a country not currently going through similar levels of inflation, too.Cedar_Room wrote: ↑07 Jun 2022, 15:13You’re both right.
