Problem is when they took the wpc role it was ok, then over time more and more stuff has been added then the wpc hasnt got time to deliver the walk they are on let alone train someone.

The role is relevent, however like most things RM not enough time time is given to do it.

What a stupid statement.
Like anything else and like everyone else you assess how much work you have and how much time you have to do it.
If part of that workload is training then that is no different.
If you do not believe you have sufficient time to complete your duty within your contracted hours then you need to approach a manager and inform them.
It is called the cut off procedure.

If a WPC doesn't even know how to do that what use are they training anyone?

Rubbish that tbh ! Happy to take their what is it 40£ a week extra for doing sod all most weeks but huff n puff when they have to earn it?

Like I said no one forces them to do it. yes it probably does affect their rounds but you know what they usually have an easy enuff round. It affects me who's been there 7 years when I get given a new starter they've not proper trained and I have to teach them the things the wpc could of!

The other problem withpeople at rm is people ask for information then like to argue when the answer that they get given dont tally with what they thought it would be.

Could I ask if anybody senior reads these posts. As you have probably read my posts regarding my RM experience in just two days, it had resorted to handing in my notice on Saturday, on mainly the basis on disorganisation and attitude towards me as a new starter. I got more respect on my first day in the Army when being collected from the train station. People say that this is a learn as you go job, what would RM customers say to that and the share holders. All my friends and family cannot believe this is going on. I know its a bezzare thing to come out with but I still want to be a Postie, and to have a decent WPC.

On the one hand I can understand where you're coming from, RM and CWU do jointly blow their own trumpets periodically
about 'New Training Procedures' which don't survive contact with the shop floor. However considering your Army background
I think you could have persevered with it, enjoyed it and you never know improved things from the inside
by kicking one of the shyster WPC's into touch. If you expected to be sat in a briefing room for a morning learning
how to use a PDA you were always going to be disappointed.

The Wpc thing is a complete waste of money , £40 a week and sometimes ours go weeks n weeks without doing anything . Running to doms snitching on staff ? Fighting for a rubbish pay erm deal and still willing to waste in ours £10,000 every year on a waste of space role.
