T24LV on Sundays goes live this weekend!
From Saturday 28th May, all Royal Mail Tracked 24 Low Volume (LV) collected on a Saturday will be due delivery on a Sunday instead of a Monday. This includes LFD kits!
What does this mean for you?
PROCESSING & RDCS
Keep it sterile! T24 must not be consolidated with other products.
No PSM please! T24 due delivery on Sundays needs to be processed manually to avoid being mixed up with other items.
Label it! On Saturday evening, all Yorks of T24 must have a round gold label folded over the top of the York label / cage card before despatch, indicating that it carries T24 due Sunday Delivery.
Label it again! Gold spot labels should also be affixed to a couple of items that are at the top of the York in case the york card goes awol.
DELIVERIES
T24? Deliver it! If it’s labelled T24 and you are not 100% sure that it is a T24 Return, then please attempt delivery on Sunday! This includes LFD kits. Gold spot wandered off but it's T24? Deliver it!
Resource it! Ensure that you continue to resource to your split of the national position of 220k.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We don't have a Saturday night shift. There's a dispatch at iirc 18:00 Saturday and then the next shift is during the day Sunday

I imagine that will change, SP. We have had a Saturday nightshift since last April, when Sunday deliveries of Covid kits, Amazon Prime etc were introduced.
What exactly is T24 Low Volume? Is this only certain T24s from business customers? What about a T24 an individual posts in London on a Saturday addressed to Inverness? Is that supposed to be delivered on a Sunday too?

If we did get a Saturday night shift introduced it'll likely be all casuals. Most shifts probably have at least a dozen casuals (don't know why RM don't offer contracts to the regular ones)Lockardian wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 11:15I imagine that will change, SP. T24 LV Gold spots were from a handful of business customers, from what i see coming in on a Saturday night at our MC is all local, Would be the daytime shifts that would see mail going outside local area so might be a change to start segging T24.
At out MC they offered 6 FT rotation jobs to get the weekend covered, But am sure i heard dayshift lost hours to give hours to nightshift.

Can't see it being kept separate as the sleeves and yorks of Tracked and normal end up being more and more mixed together

Yeah i can see that happen, up until these jobs came up through a revision at our spot, it was overtime and reserves that were doing the weekend night duty's, and the fact that RM are really wanting to ramp up Sunday delivery's they are going to try and move heaven and earth to get it to work.2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 13:19SP, Like delivery folk they will just change your rota and get you in to do it,i ,ean i know as much about the mc as you do delivery, but they will just resource to the people they have got.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 11:24If we did get a Saturday night shift introduced it'll likely be all casuals. Shame they were not like this in regards our pay.

They'll need to get more staff in as we don't have the staff as it is. One way or another it'll mean even more use of casuals. Might mean the end of walk sequencing the mech as the mech staff will have to work on the normal packets and Tracked instead2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 13:19SP, Like delivery folk they will just change your rota and get you in to do it,i ,ean i know as much about the mc as you do delivery, but they will just resource to the people they have got.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 11:24If we did get a Saturday night shift introduced it'll likely be all casuals. Re: RMCtv : T24LV (Low Volume) on Sundays goes live this weekend!
Same thing happened at our MC to ensure the weekends are covered [we may be based at the same place!] They rarely use casuals for weekend nights now. This may change if processing the additional T24s is an issue.
We’ve been told that ALL T24s that come through from the network on a Saturday night/Sunday morning [even non-business mail] will be dispatched for Sunday delivery (AM and PM). I assume these will be delivered by the LATs as per existing Sunday arrangements, unless this too is changing.
