From Saturday 28th May, all Royal Mail Tracked 24 Low Volume (LV) collected on a Saturday will be due delivery on a Sunday instead of a Monday. This includes LFD kits!
What does this mean for you?
PROCESSING & RDCS
Keep it sterile! T24 must not be consolidated with other products.
No PSM please! T24 due delivery on Sundays needs to be processed manually to avoid being mixed up with other items.
Label it! On Saturday evening, all Yorks of T24 must have a round gold label folded over the top of the York label / cage card before despatch, indicating that it carries T24 due Sunday Delivery.
Label it again! Gold spot labels should also be affixed to a couple of items that are at the top of the York in case the york card goes awol.
DELIVERIES
T24? Deliver it! If it’s labelled T24 and you are not 100% sure that it is a T24 Return, then please attempt delivery on Sunday! This includes LFD kits. Gold spot wandered off but it's T24? Deliver it!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So how many established full time Delivery Folk have had their hours and days changed to including Sunday deliveries or is it mainly new entrants. As Mail Centres don't have any new entrants/starters it will probably fall to overtime volunteers/casuals2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 13:20Nah they will just change your rota SP, Like they do to delivery folk, you will be working a sat night shift very soon.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 07:01They can dream on. Launching Sunday Deliveries to Tracked 24 Low Volume Customers
We are delighted to announce that from this Sunday (29th May) all of our Tracked 24 Low Volume Customers will begin to have their items delivered on Sundays, as part of our seven day a week service. We currently deliver parcels on Sundays for 75 Tracked 24 High Volume customers, and we are excited that over 12,000 posting customers could now benefit from this service.
The introduction of a commercial, seven day parcel delivery capability is one of the key ways Royal Mail is responding to the growth in parcel volumes as more and more consumers shop online and want to receive their purchases as quickly as possible after placing their orders - 77% of shoppers say that fast delivery times make them more confident to shop online.
James Cregan, Head of Partnerships & Strategic Accounts commented;
“We’ve already proven that customers and consumers want Sunday Deliveries. With this launch, we are supporting small and medium enterprises to continue to grow in the ecommerce arena, and to meet and exceed customer expectations.”

Its coming, and SP says the folk in delivery have no choice in it, so i imagine it will be the same in the mail centres too.denhamhoop wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 13:55So how many established full time Delivery Folk have had their hours and days changed to including Sunday deliveries or is it mainly new entrants. Very probably but let's wait and see the Post Office moves very slowly with change. Would imagine throw having to work Saturday Nights into the mix for Processing and Sunday Deliveries for Walks may well see Royal Mail struggle to retain staff especially if they get away with not paying any allowances for working Nights and Sundays. Would be able to go and do the same hours for Tesco(or any other supermarket) and earn more money and probably with less hassle2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 14:01Its coming, and SP says the folk in delivery have no choice in it, so i imagine it will be the same in the mail centres too.denhamhoop wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 13:55So how many established full time Delivery Folk have had their hours and days changed to including Sunday deliveries or is it mainly new entrants. If we are forced to work Sundays we'll have to be given another day off through the week. Royal Mail will have to employ more staff, it'll cost a fortune in the long run.

You know what they will do?, collapse walks so they dont need as many posties in the week, then use those hours that used to take the collapsed walk out for sunday

It's illegal for them to do that, it's acceptable in an emergency but they would never get away with it as a duty pattern. There's still at Universal Service Obligation. Royal Mail will never compete with Amazon DpD and co, they only have parcels to deal with. We have letters and d2ds to consider.Royal Mail would love to get rid of the letters and half the staff but it'll never happen.2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 17:39You know what they will do?, collapse walks so they dont need as many posties in the week, then use those hours that used to take the collapsed walk out for sunday

Re: RMCtv : T24LV (Low Volume) on Sundays goes live this weekend!
They've already done that at our office. People with Sundays in contracts(new starters) put on rota for the Sunday and whatever they where due to do either lapsed or put on overtime. Probably an easy solution rather than fighting us lot to get Sundays padded to out contracts. They must have plenty of people with Sunday working in their contracts now2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 17:39You know what they will do?, collapse walks so they dont need as many posties in the week, then use those hours that used to take the collapsed walk out for sunday

We've not got the staff as it is, we'd probably end up short enough on staff that all mech would have to revert to walk sort at best as the mech staff would then be needed on packets and Tracked2yearpostie wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 13:20Nah they will just change your rota SP, Like they do to delivery folk, you will be working a sat night shift very soon.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 07:01They can dream on. As far as I'm aware out of an office with nearly 100 walks we've only 3 OPG's with Sunday's included in their contract, 4 if you include one who may, or may not be agency.
If volume now increases drastically I've no idea who's going to work Sunday's to help them.

Re: RMCtv : T24LV (Low Volume) on Sundays goes live this weekend!
I'm wondering if volumes will increase very little with the introduction of this. How many of the low volume T24 customers have a collection on a Saturday? At our DO out of all the businesses we collect tracked from Monday to Friday none have a collection Saturday.
