Electric Vehicle Chargers
Our site now has EV chargers installed and have noticed one or two private cars benefitting from the charge points while on duty. Is this going to be a benefit for those who have EV's.
I have a diesel and we have a diesel pump in the yard

Re: Electric Vehicle Chargers
Our chargers are also installed but ‘somebody’ didn’t apply for the correct planning permission to install the wiring from the street outside the yard. So instead of going live with EVs before august we now have to wait until November. DOH

Ev chargers our yard can only hold 3 vans it ain't gonna happen where I am..the other 22 vans are strewn around town you have to go out walking the streets pointing your key fob and hoping to see flashing lights.

Re: Electric Vehicle Chargers
you are not allowed to charge private cars at any yard though 1 person at ours dangles his 3 pin charger out of the managers window to charge up

Someone in our street always puts their wheelie bins out facing the opposite way to their neighbours.

Re: Electric Vehicle Chargers
Jokes apart I'd suspect it could result in a misconduct charge, imagine taking an empty fuel can to fill when you fuel a van, really wouldn't do this if I were you.

I wish I had a pink bin.
And regarding the charging thing, it's theft.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Electric Vehicle Chargers
To be fair many OPGs benefit in regards of taking vans home covering the cost of fuel and wear and tear on their own vehicle so why not give people with electric vehicles the same benefit of company paid energy.

Re: Electric Vehicle Chargers
Yes at the same time every postie who has a diesel or petrol private car can fill up on the company account as well, cannot discriminate against those employees for not driving an electric car!Marshamp11 wrote: ↑18 May 2022, 18:37To be fair many OPGs benefit in regards of taking vans home covering the cost of fuel and wear and tear on their own vehicle so why not give people with electric vehicles the same benefit of company paid energy.
What the company do with THEIR vans and THEIR fuel is up to them, if you want to take a van home then you'll need to apply to transfer to an office where this happens.
Meanwhile, back to more important stuff, I always put my bin out with the handles facing the house.

Re: Electric Vehicle Chargers
I can't imagine that any electric vans will get taken home, or else the postie will have to have a charging point at home and pay to charge them overnight using their own electricity.priority102 wrote: ↑18 May 2022, 19:25Yes at the same time every postie who has a diesel or petrol private car can fill up on the company account as well, cannot discriminate against those employees for not driving an electric car!Marshamp11 wrote: ↑18 May 2022, 18:37To be fair many OPGs benefit in regards of taking vans home covering the cost of fuel and wear and tear on their own vehicle so why not give people with electric vehicles the same benefit of company paid energy.
