Absence days

Post by leefarrell26 »

I've had 2 weeks off sick and just wanted to find out how many days absent it would be recorded as, I'm getting conflicting information.

By my working out, it would 5 days for one week, with the 2 days off not recorded as absent days.

Im being told its 14 days absence, when I work it out as 10. Could anyone please clarify.

Thanks

Everyday is a sick day I'm afraid - including Sundays and any days off.

Depends when you called in sick and when you called to say you would return to work. The absence will start on the day you called in sick so if the Monday of the first week and you called to say you were fit to resume work that would be 12 days unless Sunday is part of your working hours then that would be 13 days. If you never phoned in to say you were returning to work then they might well try and count it as 14 days

I phoned in on the monday and returned on the monday 2 weeks later.

Sundays isn't part of my working contract. Just don't understand how what would have been days off can be recorded as sick.

14 days is correct, all days are counted regardless of contracted work days and also includes Bank Holidays.

Just think its odd.

When I book a weeks holiday, i'm put down for 5 days and 2 days off. When sick, its classed as 7 days, even for the days im not supposed to be in.

Thats me on a stage one then

Depends If they were scheduled to work the Saturday or not. If Saturday was their rest day that week and they informed them they were fit to return on Saturday when calling on the Friday it should be counted as 12 days. If they called in on the Friday to say they would be fit to return on the Monday and the Saturday was a working day it would be counted as 14 days.

12 days if Saturday is the rest day.
13 days if scheduled to work Saturday.
I read on this forum (long time ago) that if you tell them u are coming back, the sunday shouldnt count as a sick day. I'm not sure if this is correct or not
