I'd love this transformation to be a raving success, all these top managers have done though is alienated the entire workforce. Unite and the CWU balloting. Never been heard of. Managers fuming at how they are being treated. I forecast offices with managers calling in sick on mass. Many were desperate to go and have been kept on, they are fuming. Glass tinted glasses in the ivory towers. I hope sense prevails, this is going to be chaos.
Whats happening with the Unite ballot? Its all went quiet and the changes are being implemented in less than 2 weeks time
I've never quite got my head around Royal Mail managers being Union members. They have forever sneered at any suggestion that front line staff take industrial action when standing up for their rights, striking to a Royal Mail manager is an alien concept. They have their own back up teams to cover for them whenever any tricky issues arise, so 99.9% of the time their union Unite must be redundant. All of a sudden, managers are being removed from the business so now they call for the support of the same front line staff they've sneered at forever.

Pretty sure that Unite were just posturing when threatening strike action. Its not in a Royal Mail managers DNA

the same front line staff whose industrial action they actively undermined and removed some colleagues from the business?

You can imagine if the screws did man the picket line outside their DO one day, next day they'd haul everyone who refused to cross the picket line into the office.

The ballot was dead in the water before they announced it.
The 700 who took VR weren't going to vote for it.
The line managers who have been promoted to COMs with a hefty 30% pay rise won't be voting for it.

Ours stand around and moan about how dreadful it all is. Then they have a sit down and carrying on moaning.

What are COMs and how many line managers are being turned into them?

And seriously 30% pay rises?!

Customer Operations Manager. The replacements for DOMs.
I don't know how many.
A line manager's salary was approx £30K. The new role pays approx £40K.

K.
So we get rid of one idiot .... and then employee another ...AND pay him even more? :hmmmm

That sounds like good business sense to me. I wouldn't mind getting sacked and then re-employed for £10K extra. :cuppa

Someone wants to tell him that pissing off your entire workforce, us posties and managers included, hasn’t ever and won’t ever increase productivity. Not even with the promise of a shiny new uniform that still isn’t up to the job or even a new tablet that won’t work in most parts of most offices.

It’s beyond parody now.

Speaking from experience of our revision going in last October your Lino is absolutely correct. Waste of time money and everybody’s mental health, our office is still f**cked and nobody cares anymore.

Years of proper revision theory, but in the end the offices tend to bodge it themselves. Whichever walks that drop regularly have that bit taken off and stuck on a job where the postie seems to get done early. Not because it deserves the extra bit as that guy is super efficient whatever round he does, it's just the easy option. The gripes go on.
