Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
and i hope the PR team are one the ball too
remember we could have legally gone on strike just before the pandemic hit but chose not to, other things of all the goodwill shown by us, relaxing social distancing (at our d/o anyway) when it was law, using own cars to get out instead of buses/walking, working xmas type pressure for months and months, and through searing heat at times
honestly i don't think 1 or 2 days strikes will work that well, especially in july when traffic would fall, add people with less income it'll be even less this year, needs to be a complete work to rule with overtime ban, but we know that won't happen

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
Cwu should have seen this derisory offer coming by the delayed talks. Hopefully hold a legal ballot this time.

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
The 4 weeks started on 6th May i believe so that would give a 3rd June deadline for any resolution

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
Even a legal ballot is only any good if the union move immediately to all-ouut strike action that would destroy the company if allowed to continue, as the board are legally obliged to act in the best interests of their shareholders.
Simply trying to piss about using the ballot result as a bargaining chip with a few innefective one day strikes thrown in will achieve sweet f all. Unless the union make it absolutely clear in advance what action they intend to take if we vote for industrial action then I will be voting to accept the shitty offer.

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
ballot papers won't state what form of industrial action it will be, just an X to if yes or no to any, but would be strikes, 1 or 2 days probably

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
Only in DOs would that have any affect. In MCs and RDCs RM would just bring in more casuals/agency, also won't have any affect in any DO that uses casuals/agency

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
That would be a complete waste of time. It wouldn't cost RM many customers. It would simply cost us pay with more work to do immediately after the strike.world class male wrote: ↑09 May 2022, 06:03ballot papers won't state what form of industrial action it will be, just an X to if yes or no to any, but would be strikes, 1 or 2 days probably
Make it an initial one or two months unless RM meet union demands and management know that would kill off RM and ruin the shareholders.

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
Official strikes don't work gives Management time and date to organise cover and on walks just means 2 days work the next day. Work to rule no overtime and do the job as we are meant to do it is way more effective sadly most people only ever worry about themselves and do what suits them

Re: LDC Comms on Pay Dispute
Work to rule disproportionally affects part time workers plus it hardly gets any publicity, an all out strike is the most effective but do we really have the stomach for such a strike, apart from the odd 1 day's strike?denhamhoop wrote: ↑09 May 2022, 08:55Official strikes don't work gives Management time and date to organise cover and on walks just means 2 days work the next day.
