Tracked from new hubs to be scanned in MCs?

Will we be scanning the Tracked that's been sorted in the hubs in the MCs before they head off to the DOs. Would have to have a closer look but there was some new scan streams to do with hubs from where we'd select what we're scanning (Inward Large, Inward Nornal, etc)

No idea on that. However i've noticed a distinct lack of scanning in my office, i mean at the sorting stage. 99% of our rounds don't do pre delivery scans.

I don't live in an area my office delivers to so no idea how they operate, but i had 2x tracked parcels coming from different suppliers, and filled in my phone number for both. I got diddly squat by txt, and one email about delivery, so i was unable to fill in any safe place info.

My point is that you may be right that there may be changes ahead as offices don't appear to be able to cope.

mc are useless anyway, instead of a york of tracked, a york of non tracked and a york of oversized, all 3 come in the same york nowadays and we have to sort stuff twice before we can scan the tracked in. Its really efficent..

Yup, we literally scan 400 tracked a morning out of our regular shrouds

We've started getting letters and flats in with our sleeves now. I don't mean an odd one either. There's dozens of them.The presentation from our MC has never been so bad. And it's been really bad in the past, just takes the biscuit this week

our office is set up to do the tracked in one area and the non tracked in another area as we used to get seperate yorks once upon a time..

Sounds like your MC has a parcel machine.
RM don't pay millions of pounds on machines only for them to be sat idle whilst waiting for more work to arrive, so they end up throwing everything in to keep it running.
As for the large it's probably a driver consolidating work to get it all on your vehicle so that you are not left waiting for work.

Unfortunately RM is set to make cost savings in a vacuum, therefore in most cases a saving made in one area results in a corresponding cost somewhere else. Until they go back to considering the business as a whole this will always be the case.

our office is set up to do the tracked in one area and the non tracked in another area as we used to get seperate yorks once upon a time..

My old office would have just sorted mixed yorks as we scanned the trackeds therein

One of the things being looked at is to move the ready for delivery scan to the postman prepping the delivery. This would ensure it would only get the scan and the associated notification if it was definitely going out that day. It was trialed in places during covid and could get a wider roll out soon.

Wow, so everyone would have to have at least 30 min uplift in thier contract to be able to do that.

Given that it takes about a second to scan a packet you would get a 30 minute increase in your contract if you were having to scan 1800 parcels every morning.
Do you deliver 1800 Tracked parcels every day? No - then stop talking shite.

We already do that for about 6 months now its not as bad as it sounds literally a second to scan it and pop on the frame.

If you can scan and sort 1800 Tracked Items in a Half Hour Period they would love you at my MC 600 to 800 an hour is good going dependent on the size of and the ease of finding the sweet spot for the 3D/2D code

You are correct. They probably would love me in your MC. That's why everyone calls me Raymond.
The point is in a DO you have to sort the packets anyway. All you might be asked to do is scan it as well, which as the other poster who actually does it states takes about a second. Having to RFD the Tracked packets at your frame would not necessitate a 30 minute increase in contracted hours unless you had to stop and scratch your fat hairy arse in between each scan.
