Re: Help them
Part of me wants to invoke the Holocaust poem 'First they came..." But in all my 30 years it's always been a one way street of take take take and erosion of T&C's I haven't seen managers this scared since Agenda for Leadership and that turned out to be ok for us and a few bad apples got found out but mostly the rubbish keeps rising to the top and the biggest BSs will continue to do what they do and we'll continue to do what we do. So forgive me for not joining the campaign. As the French say 'plus ca change'
Or as we say the more things change the more they stay the same
Peace out and enjoy your Easter Weekend all.

Re: Help them
kind of sad that unite & cwu never work together
I've only ever known the cwu take any real industrial action and unites members have never ever supported us,
they worked quite willingly during ours in the past and generally their members made our lives harder, I was once threatened with dismissal by a unite member during IA!
so whilst i can't go against them as a union member, their members were quite happy to do the dirty on us

Re: Help them
No matter how badly managed Royal Mail is I do find it’s a bit of a Kick in the teeth for them.
Who’s next the posties,When they knock off delivering letters on Saturday ?
Mass Exodus with tumbleweed in Delivery Offices.

Re: Help them
Clearly says possible industrial action so won't be a ballot.

Re: Help them
According to my DOM the ballot is irrelevant. They are all getting told their new offices/VR payment on Wednesday. The CMA are already backtracking and emailing members that this is a good deal for those that want to stay so best not rock the boat

Upper management's unsung heroes, enacting the edicts from on high and keeping top brass' hands clean.

Re: Help them
I do feel sympathy for them. They are workers being shafted by a rotten, greedy company, just like us.
And they have families and bills to pay, just like us.

Re: Help them
There are too many of them.
There is not enough work to justify their jobs.
Many of them have been conning the business for years spending most of the morning as the most highly paid tray collectors in the UK.
And then they give us a hard time for not being efficient enough.
They've had a good run and most will leave the business with around 100k.
Yeah I feel sorry for them.

Re: Help them
No sympathy whatsoever.
They had a choice to become managers and a lot already knew the culture they were getting into and were more than happy to make the working lives of some OPG's downright miserable and no doubt enjoy it.
Don't treat your staff like dirty then start crying when your higher ups turn their focus on to you and then expect your own staff to come and bail you out.
I've been in previous ballots and strike action and trust me managers deliberately targeted anyone that had gone on strike and those that hadn't, well they were forever their little helpers and buddies.
OPG's are the unsung heroes of this business and it's those very same OPG's that are constantly treated as if they are nothing more than cannon fodder. And that will never change unfortunately.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
