broken service

Post by migo1960 »

I have just joined RM after a 7 year break having previously done 28yrs service I was told that my previous service should count towards my annual leave entitlement therefore giving me the maximum 6 weeks ,I was wondering if this is correct. I am working part time 2 days a week Saturday and Sunday contracted 6 hrs a day, Am I entitled to a Sunday supplement for hours worked ?

Short answer is

Yes for leave, contact hr to adjust your entitlement.

Yes for Sunday premium and bookroom/dom should do the hr17 form. Again making sure you get any arrears paid back.

Mentioned this in a previous post and Sunday supplement.

The employee is only contracted to work Saturday and Sunday 16 hours in total

The employee will be paid as stipulated in their contract of employment

The agreement people post up is twenty years out of date and cannot be relied upon as an objective source of reference

This question never gets a response so be so kind as too contact HR direct and update your post with the response.

That will end this question once and for all

Yes to Sunday premium. I started in October, Sunday only contract, no mention of it in my contract. I contacted HR, they told me I should have been getting it. According to my manager I will get it from next week, and all arrears soon after that..

I have just received a response from HR and they have informed me Sunday conditioned hours attract a supplement of £5.83 per hr which the DOM must let the book room know the OP is performing ,so getting my supplement back dated, still awaiting confirmation regarding holiday entitlement after broken leave which I will ask the branch to pursue, hope this helps other Sunday contracted workers.

I have been told yes as well. But have asked my DOM to look into it.
Is this fact?If so where can i get it in black and white.
I done 10 years, left and eturned 2 years later.Have done another 10 year so far but only get a ten year man's annual leave.

The issue you have is proving previous service as those HR Records might have been deleted being over six years ago

The only way I can think of is if your bank can get any statements from archive but that will be a long shot

You might try contacting the pension provider, but as it is over 10 years ago now that will be Capita, not Sheffield

Wouldn't it be on any pension statement from Capita though ?

As the pension was taken over by Capita, your best bet will be to submit a Data Subject Access Request requiring they release all Royal Mail pension information they hold on you.

Under the new GDPR Regulation the previous £10.00 fee has now been waived
