Annual leave/people app questions

Im looking on the people app and its telling me my basic entitlement is 173.9 hours. Seems a bit low to me?

Also, why do they show (under leave entitlement) the dates 1st March 2022 - 31st March 2023? It also then shows 1st April 2022 - 31st March 2023, which makes sense as thats the financial year isnt it and our leave year. So whats the relevance of 1st March 2022-31st March 2023 being shown?

Your hours entitlement are easy to work out. Leave increases with service so you get;

22.5 days up to 5years service
23.5 days between 5 and 15 years
26 days between 15 and 20 years
30 days after 20 years.

Just divide your weekly contract hours by 5 and then multiply the answer by the number of days you are entitled to.

Its more complicated because our office is on the 9 day fortnight. Im sure its right, but a rough calculation it seemed low.

Also we’ve just dropped an hour from 38 to 37 (again complicated by the 9 day fortnight) - how does this effect everyone leave, surely this now means all the calculations need to be changed?!

I had 18 hours carried forward from last year but today on the App I can only see my basic entitlement and carried forward hours seem to have disappeared.

no your carried over leave should kick in when the new tax year kicks in , so after the 5th ask them to print you a leave sheet out .

My carry forward hours where not displayed on the first of April but it has been updated on the 2nd. Maybe, the DOM has to input the hours onto some computer programme before it is updated on the People's App. Perhaps you could let your Dom know.

Many thanks, I think the boss has gone off with stress But I will ask if someone is going to update the annual leave details or if it kicks in automatically after new tax year begins

It's really not complicated. That's how to find your annual leave hours. How it's split up over different shifts is a different matter.
