Every week after my rest day my round isn't covered and get double next day
Yes I can cut off but Dom is saving one days pay per round each week.
Plus you end up with an extra days D2D;s
Should this be happening?

He is not effectively saving he is scamming and wilfully delaying mail.

Seems like our depot has this issue all over, though it appears to stem from "we need all these people to take their remaining holiday in March so the depot is maybe 75% staffed at all times"

The Royal Mail have a 6-day USO obligation, every time this happens (I can only imagine Thousands of times a week up and down the country), they are failing that obligation.
How OFCOM haven’t hit them with an astronomical fine still baffles me. I suppose they will if it carries on, not having the convenient Covid excuse to hide under.
They should have done it ages ago though. Maybe Royal Mail would have been forced to invest in order to ensure the USO obligation is fulfilled as it should be. Instead of pumping £100’s millions profit straight into shareholders pockets.

Re: is this a way of clawing back hours by Management?
The question is why there is no Rest Day Cover (RDC) duty? At my old office (I still live in the area) they went into their revision in October actually one of the first to implement my Postie told me they scrapped all RDC duties as part of the revision and his walk is not covered on his rest day which is one of the reasons that RM are screwing up and this unacceptable. Infact my Postie is a newbie started last May complained about the extra days workload and was told that solution was to not have his rest day and come in by his DOM. Simon Thompson and ur senior management team this is an unacceptable response and I do appreciate that the local managers have been instructed by their bosses to cut and cut but we are getting to the point where we canna cut no more and RM will come to a grinding halt and Simon Thompson and his team will def have no job.
The Big Trust Survey is coming out next week fill it out and tell them the truth if ur local management are not fit for purpose RM need to know and for the other comments constructive comments in Simon Thompson and his teams leadership especially if you feel they are not fit for purpose it will def be hard for RM to massage the truth but they have to be told the truth where the problems with RM lie

This happens a lot at our place and happened to me Tuesday. Day off Monday came in Tuesday to half the frame still in. Asked the lino if I would be paid going rate for taking half a walk out. No she said, we will pay you what you go over. Calm discussion followed about why management thought it was ok for me to do 2 days mail. My response was that's not the job I get paid for, there response was you ate just working your hour's, or OT if you want it. Left me wondering where I would stand if I refused to take 2 days mail out. Sure I would be threatened with suspension but then what. Surely not a reasonable request. Daft thing is cut off, brought mail back, had to reprep the next morning, very busy Wednesday so manager paid somebody else 2 hrs OT to do our oversized! Baffled.

If you know they won't sweeten the deal at all in your office just take it out for a ride and follow the cut off procedure. I wouldn't even waste time arguing yet alone refusing to take it out. Pile it up for 3-4days and they will be begging you to clear it or throwing money at you. If not someone else will clear it for you. One thing is almost certain they would soon make sure your round goes out when you're off no matter what.adamanti wrote: ↑01 Apr 2022, 17:08This happens a lot at our place and happened to me Tuesday. how about just having a nice day, if your walk normally takes five hours and you + half from the previous day just stay out for 7.5hrs and take your time.
