Missorts and PSM Query

Post by Lockardian »

I have noticed a problem (particularly with Tracked items) which have gone to the wrong Mail Centre due to being incorrectly addressed.

Personally when I get an non-tracked item meant for another Mail Centre, I cross out the QR code (eg. on Horizon labels or Click and Drop labels) and manually amend the address/postcode. I cross out the QR code so that (hopefully) a PSM will reject it to manual sort.

On Tracked items with the wrong postcode (eg SP instead of ST), again I amend the code but I’m not sure if the QR should be crossed out due to the onward tracking required. What’s happening though is after re-directing such items, they often end up back at the wrong mail centre a few days later presumably due to the PSM at the correct mail centre reading the QR or barcode (which presumably contains the wrong data) and “mis-sorting” the item again.

Does anyone with PSM knowledge know what we can do to avoid this happening? The fact that it’s the QR/barcode causing the issue is just educated speculation on my part.
