Management altering shifts

Hi folks.

Can anyone advise me on this.

Our Manager puts the shift details up 2 or 3 weeks in advance so that those that aren't on fixed shift patterns know what they're working.

Written on each detail is "shifts are subject to change"

Can anyone tell me what notice a manager needs to give a postie to change their rest day?

We've had posties that have made plans for their weekend off, 3 weeks in advance, only to be told that they've now got to work on that Saturday because of a shift change.

3 weeks is a long time to give out duties to reserves, most are a week, some 2 weeks, perhaps even more are being told on Fridays.
Anything could happen in those time scales.
Saying that though, if say a week or so they were given out and things change then any OPG's who have made arrangements 'should' be able to depending on how hard you push it keep the day/days off.
Reserves need fairness as well.
We have had arguments at my place before because of this and kept the reserves day off who had made plans.
Managers get paid 'a lot' to manage, and having Bob or Sue off on whatever day and it's on a different duty can be managed without stitching the reserve up.

Weekly resource meetings are impossible at the moment.
