RO+N app on PDA no longer works
Does anyone else have the issue of not being able to use the RO+N app? They’ve updated it on the PDA and now you need to put in a delivery route number… but when you do it just comes up with an error
. I just do deliveries on sat/sun and can have up to 90 parcels and now I can’t even plan a route. Madness. It has not been working for about a week now!

Worked fine for me on Friday. How the hell do you Ron 90 pkts and find the next one. ? Surely you can't scroll through and number them all?

Cool, it hasn’t been working for us for a week now.. weird.
Based in London doing predominately parcels and LAT in a van so they’re all lined up in the back according to the manifest via what RON optimises.
It’s weird, before you just entered your start location postcode and could just scan away to create the manifest. They keep on updating things on the PDA and making it worse… it’s exhausting.

And I tend to cover a whole postcode area / town in London so that’s why the route planning was integral.

Pretty certain you need to get a new bar code for your route from your manager, this was another system improvement nobody seems to have been warned about.

You need a new barcode with the route on. It's awful since they updated it. My battery ran out after 70+ parcels. I logged in on my second PDA and the whole list came back as if I hadn't started. It was asking me to photograph parcel 1 again. Whoever updated this clearly has never worked on deliveries.

More likely the number of apps on them, which all use battery power.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 07:03I think our PDA batteries must have exceeded their maximum number of charge cycles as the batteries seem to drain quicker now

I think apart from the RON app, our PDAs have the same apps as PDAs in DOsJefferson Starfish wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 07:06More likely the number of apps on them, which all use battery power.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 07:03I think our PDA batteries must have exceeded their maximum number of charge cycles as the batteries seem to drain quicker now

Cheers for the replies and insights team. My DOM doesn’t know anything about new route barcodes which is greatupsydaisy wrote: ↑21 Mar 2022, 22:54You need a new barcode with the route on. Yes, I always try to take 2 PDAs if I can to negate this.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 07:03I think our PDA batteries must have exceeded their maximum number of charge cycles as the batteries seem to drain quicker now
Also the PDAs do not screen lock and sleep as they use to when not in use (after pressing the power button at top we used to have to slide finger up on screen to unlock to ensure it didn’t unlock in pocket but alas they’ve “improved” the PDA and removed that function). The amount of times I’ve locked and put in my pocket and it somehow has unlocked and the screen is on when I go to retrieve it from my pocket. So it being technically on constantly paired with taking photos for every delivery is probably using a lot of battery.
Do these people ever test anything before they launch their improvements?? *sigh*.
Have a great day team.

Re: RO+N app on PDA no longer works
For the PDAs that we use for scanning Tracked, when you log in it always asks what area you're in when it can only be the MC. It also says about setting some stuff up, surely that stuff should already be set up

Re: RO+N app on PDA no longer works
Yeah that’s still the same and works fine.
When you go to outdoor (to setup so can scan tracked) scan a delivery route number that works fine. But now when you go to RON you can’t just start creating a manifest as before as it wants a a delivery route number which bizarrely it doesn’t accept - even the same one it had accepted to allow you to scan for tracked
But apparently there are new barcodes - but my DO doesn’t have them

Re: RO+N app on PDA no longer works
My DOM has sent an email about the new update. It's made the job so much harder on LAT's. Especially on new estates where the locations are incorrect. You have to do them in the manifest order which means going backwards and forwards. They need to go back to how we used to do it one PDA for RO+N that stayed in the van and another PDA for scanning at the door. This new system you have to use only the one PDA. The battery doesn't last long enough and then when you try another one the manifest restarts itself.

Re: RO+N app on PDA no longer works
You can still do them in any order, just marked each address delivered then, when you eventually arrive at the address, scan them in the normal way.
