can you tell me if the company or the cwu have really risk accessed this new product for customers ? , as it wont be long before there is a increase on dog attacks to delivery staff because of this , as i have had dogs run out of properties when you would normally put parcel on step , knock and walk down the path and shut the gate and parcel there delivered or not , but now you have to stand there and take a photo with the door open with more chance of dogs getting out , these people are clueless how much stress this is causing .

The way i do it is, scan it, get to the photo page put it on the door step, knock on the door, leg it to the end of drive/jump in the van all the time watching the door so that when it opens its a simple press of the button to get the pic.

Yeah if i can get near enough to the front door and i know a nasty dog is around absoultely, i just pan the camera down so the top of the picture is level with the letterbox

"complain" or just ask why you'd stopped doing it? I can't understand why the company hasn't sent out a leaflet explaining the change, they sent one for parcel collect, which nobody hardly uses but not for something widely used by our customers.

Because doorstepping has never been official policy so technically nothing should be changing

Because doorstepping has never been official policy so technically nothing should be changing

Clearly taking photos on the doorstep has changed and whilst doorstepping wasn't official policy you only have to look on here, FB and Workplace to know that it was regularly taking place. Although leaving parcels in previously agreed safe places is not really the same as doorstepping.

I regularly have dogs rushing out to me, 2/3 a day. Luckily they just lick me, but one day.......... Obviously a risk assessment has only been done in a half-arsed way and then been discounted, as we want to be able to "compete".

Bit harsh to call them idiots they don't know our protocols. Best save that word for the development teams.

Yep caught me a few times before I twigged. Now I get ready and don't push it in far enough to let them get a grip (oo ar missus).

Sorry if a customer I know is at their car or in their garden/driveway, there's no way I'm telling them to go back inside and stand at their door.... I take a photo at arms length before giving them their parcel. Might be a bit blurry but hey-ho. All in the name of keeping up good customer relations and not leaving them with a scowl on their face.
