Door to door procedure ?

Hi all fairly new so might be a bit of a silly question , is there a procedure on door 2 door Chuck Ins ? I’m part time but regularly come in full time hours to help Chuck walks in in the morning , if I’m on the same duty all week should I be chucking door to doors in that duty ? Thanks

God, I hope not. Double slots, different partner every day. I have not been informed of d'd's all on Monday, even after a revision, the early people/runners have come up trumps. It is like Royal Mail are putting pressure on the people who do the job as asked.....

We had mention of "warm calling", filling all slots on monday and just taking out the junk mail with the addresses which had actual mail each day. We said hell no. Their half arsed "we have a solution" of half-height dividers was a laugh too, that wouldn't make it much easier. We just do (Depending on frame size) 1 column a day. (6 columns wide is easiest, of course, wider or shorter you need to change things a bit, none on tuesday or more on monday etc)

Work across multiple DOs and they all do it differently. Warm calling is by far the most efficient. Most of them are done by Tuesday.

Easy to miss a day of DtDs otherwise when you are being moved around and they haven't been put in and you have not been told about them. Also working in a pair you sometimes find that some days aren't fairly split between partners.

The worst I've seen is just taking bundles or DtDs out with you and being expected to pull them out as you go.

Most efficient is find the nearest bin. They should be called Door to Bin as that's where they go. Nobody wants them. With climate change it's a disgrace it's allowed.

In answer to the question yes you should. A min of a col a day, but if you want to put more in on a slack mon/tues its by far the quickest solution then just take out where you are going.

How does that make it easier or efficient and why are you prepping D2D's on a Saturday afternoon (unless you've
got to make up your time). Delivering both D2D on a double slot sounds fine in practice if you've only got mail
for one, but if you have a series of driveways of say just 10m that you're cold calling due to being double slots
it's creating inefficiency.

2300 addresses with say on average 3 households. To put them all in on a Monday? About an hour and a half I reckon before I even put a letter in!

Like another said.

If you have a letter for the first address of the double, take the second as well. If you just have a letter for the second, don't.

If you think there are two many D2D's on one day, leave some for another day.

I know a few that always take all their D2D's on a Monday. Call in second mec.
