Tips for delivery staff on how to deliver a nicely timed comment to a bullying manager
I am a reserve postie and was put on " the worst walk in the office " for the first time this week ( I was put on that walk due to managerial spite as I'd scored a couple of points from the lino and the DOM last Friday) In 10 years I've not seen a worse walk to do for the first time. I took it all as requested by the manager. I did the tracked, specials, collection box, a customer collection and one loop. And brought the rest back. As you can imagine, the following morning, the DOM was ready to ask why I brought that much back. I said " DOM, if I had stayed out and delivered what I brought back, we wouldn't be having this conversation " a tumbleweed moment followed, he was speechless and walked off. He didn't realise that he was actually judging me, castigating me for cutting off and not going over. Works every time

Well done, just stick to your guns.
Obviously, if management starts getting too arsey then grievance etc could be on the cards, see your rep 1st tho.
Good luck.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
