The bullying and harassment process

Post by In on his own »

The bullying and harassment process using the H1 form is not fit for purpose !! I'm sure that HR will claim the opposite and that being fit for purpose is the rule rather than the exception. But I'm saying the opposite...because of the " bad faith aspect " Managers assigned with a B and H case, will immediately see if it can be batted away by saying the opg has raised this in bad faith. Let's narrow this down to B and H cases in delivery rather than other RM sections

Have to agree the process is not fit for purpose because employees think it is the magic bullet

HR will always downgrade any complaint to a Grievance.

The thing people do not understand is that employees have to use the Grievance procedure first. Royal Mail then has to assume you made that complaint in good faith. Only then, after the internal grievance procedure has been exhausted, do you elevate formally to an allegation of bullying and harassment?

Follow the agreed procedure

Am going to stick up for managers on this one. What one employee considers bullying and harassment, the manager considers performance management techniques throughout the business

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don’t waste your time on any of it.I suffered it for 4 years, constantly chipping away & mainly because I stood up for myself after the death of the last member of my family!! I finally snapped & went off with stress & put in a B&H case which they told me was a grievance. When I went for an interview with a Manager from another office & explained everything he didn’t even bother to interview any of my witnesses. Complete sham… I’ve left now but my health has been affected & I’ve not been right since….

Afraid you are in error

There is no specific primary legislation that lists bullying as the subject covers many areas of the law, though harassment is with a protected characteristic such as gender/disability, etc

Alleged bullying in the workplace will ultimately be a matter for an Employment Tribunal, not the police

Just because B&H is considered performance/man management doesn't mean that its not B&H.

Also, just because it is policy doesn't let anyone off the hook for its implementation (Nuremberg defence).

Having witnessed the tactics over 20+ years but more importantly, having been cognisant of them due to being previously educated in the matter, I can assure anyone, and prove it, that Royal Mail has and does utilise Dark Triad tactics against its workforce similarly to how the Post Office utilised them as seen in the Horizon Scandal.

Having had to personally suffer management dweebs quoting verbatim a play-book that I know very well indeed and having had to play-along pretending to ignorance whilst they waffled, shuffled and stuttered over the script was and is very painful but not as bleak as for those who did not know what they (management) were doing, how and why.

I would suggest that any student of the matter take an interest in the Horizon Scandal plus Dark Triad management techniques and compare and contrast to the techniques utilised against Delivery Office personnel.

No sir, the "Its just how you 'think' it" is just an isolationary, gaslighting bluff in order to normalise a lot of nastiness so just because it is a policy doesn't equate to it not being B&H.

For the record never stated B&H considered performance management. It is wrong for you to infer that.

What I stated was that employees consider it to be and go for the H1 complaint first, which cannot follow the correct procedure. That is why they get downgraded to a grievance by HR.

Any complaint against an employee, and managers are employees, you use the grievance procedure first as a mediation process
