hi all in the last few weeks our line manager has been waiting at the office door in the morning to catch
the early finishers and telling them to do ten minutes ips when i have been coming back i have been
telling the lads that they dont have to do it. as our office has now more parttimers than full and
they want to keep in with management they just do it.

i spent days telling management that i wouldnt do but they are saying that we have to be flexable,
i know this was not part of the agreement as they said in the vioce that to get rid of job and go would be
impossible.

so now i am being labeled as a trouble maker by management

As far as i can gather job and finish stays. But the time you finish depends on the time you leave the office. So in my neck of the woods they are desperate to keep us in clearing the office untill as late as poss. Aint happened yet but we aint got a flexability agreement yet. Yet! My advice for what its worth is once out stay out and dont come back till you are due to book off.

You may well find you are in breech of the new agreement. The CWU stated that not wanting to do something was no excuse for not being flexible and I think you will find job and finish HAS ceased - hence the statement by RM that they expect people to work for the hours paid and even more in some instances.

The flexibility agreement is phase 2.There are some office's merely trialing it.Has your office gone
back to 5am starts? What about your nights abolishen? These are Phase 1.If you have'nt
done either than how can you go to phase 2 when you have'nt done phase 1?

Did you not know that the new agreement virtually does away with "job & finish"?

Have you been to any union meetings?
The reps in offices have spoken till they are blue in the face that this would happen.If you are finishing too early than it gives them a chance to reduce walks/and or make you work your time.

Dont you have a 'Blue Pouch' system?
This way you can pouch off all undelivered mail (P739 items /shuts etc) into sub post offices to be collected by a driver.
This way you dont have to go back to the office. Virtually no one in our office goes back after they have finished their round.

I think this will also go and you will have to sign out at the end of your shift. This is why RM are trialling new equipment on delivery.

when all the new bikes for delivery postmen are brought in to operation everyone will have to go back to their depot with their bike.so the answer as allways is work to your time and dont give the b****rds a reason to give you more work

Flexibility is not compulsory and that is part of the national agreement - You do not have to do it! - Just work your hours

What you are seeing is the classic "abuse of flexibility" that RM are doing, which was always going to happen.

3.5 hrs haven't ahd a round finnish in that time for a few hrs in our office
