More left the business in last 5 years than previous 20 i worked here
Retirement beckons here in the summer
Here depot 12 vacancies i told !!!
Experienced people leaving/retiring but Royal Mail will carry on
Like all businesses we had to adapt/improvise and overcome
But the plain simple fact is in the old days, we were a TEAM !! CEO LIKES THAT WORD !!
Now we just individuals trying to get through the day unscathed
The pay not bad-but for the physical effort needed now-it can be surpassed by many other jobs, with less hassle and stress
and not such an effect on your social/family life
To many different contracts/hours lack of senior personnel re IPS proving costly
Most Depots lots of people who limited re what they do especially indoor work
That came home to roost at Christmas
Fatigue/Illness/Injury been higher than any other time in the Industry
But for all that WE will be there for the people of this Country and do the best we can

Going to be working at the council.
I'd just had enough really, mostly of being treated terribly by management and the completely unmanageable workloads. It's far different than when I first started when we'd get finished early if we put in the hard work. The last two years have just exacerbated all the issues RM already had. I walked out a day back in October, due to a number of reasons and have been signed off since - with almost weekly contact from the DOM adding to my stress! At one point they were trying to stop paying me etc.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

There'll be plenty of people left in delivery, it's just that none of them will hang around for long under crap conditions and pay.
