New behaviour charter

Post by celerycelery »

Got told today at wtl that a new national thing is coming in where we all get to voice what we dont like within our office, for example swearing. This will then be listed within office and could lead to discipline if not adhered to. Sounds like another scam to rid royal mail of more staff quickly. Anyone heard this in other offices?

Very few things offend me in my office, apart from 1 manager and people who seem to live on a diet of cabbage & guinness, not very pleasant walking down there aisles :Sick
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I don't know about that, there has been a move afoot for quite a while in our office where swearing has been frowned on and Managers have asked people to refrain from swearing whilst in conversation with them or if they hear someone swearing. The excuse was strangely "that people had complained" when asked to expand they said it was a new procedure of listening to people. That only seems to apply if it's crap they want to hear of course.

Very few things annoy me and nothing annoys me so much that I'd go to the manager about it (anyway the worst ones are the strike breakers/DUM's pets etc.)

Most people in my office curse and piss take its all part of keeping up morale and most of it is to do with RM and there managers because on a day today basis they make decisions that you cant help but laugh at, maybe thats what our so called leaders dont like being laughed at for making crazy decisions. If they weren't so incompetent the pisstake wouldn't be as good never stop our boys loud as f**k maybe nobody left soon then.Dont be silenced most people can take banter thick skinned down this way. :nana :nana :nana

the thing that pees me off is that the strike breakers(2 girls) seem to have been forgiven by the majority of people working in our office even though they strut around like they own the place, disappear when its time to go on the IPS,dont wear uniform, dont go on the sorting when the missorts come in,dont turn up to WTL or union meetings even though there in it (which i think they should be expelled from for crossing the pickett line)
and do management castigate them for any of these things
do they fcuk

What I am going to post here will sound insane.
Many moons ago I woked with an old guy who invented his own brand of profanity.
He called this unique brand of gobbledegook Hogsnoffie talk.
It was hilarious!
This is how it worked.
F*** became 'Fluke' , D***h**d = Richard Cranium. A***h**e = bumburrow. S**th**d =shirthaired.
F*** O** = forcough. W****r = Willy wonka.... there are much more.
On a more serious note R.M. are Neo Nazis and P155 R-TESTS.
This is another shunt into our down the plughole limited freedom at work.
I'm all for the dignity & respect side of the coin it's how it can be interpreted by the Willy Wonkers and gestapo that roam the offices and mailcentes.

If your manager told you it's a national thing , ask him to show you the paperwork or if it even exists. That usually leaves them with nothing to say :left: . As for swearing , it doesn't bother me. That's apart from the couple of idiots on my shift who can't make up a full sentence without using F**k , c**t or D**k every second or third word. Now that really DOES get right on my T**s :chuckle .

If they banned farts then several in my office would end up exploding (but it's one way of moving up the seniority list)
