Project Manager at Royal Mail Group

Peak PDAs- request process for additional PDAs

Following on from the deployment of 70,000 new PDAs, we have supplied an additional 10,000 TC75 PDAs (old PDAs) for peak which is up by 50% on last year’s supply.

Peak PDA 2021/22

10,000 peak PDAs were despatched between 25th Oct and the 12th Nov.

Peak PDA supply volumes was supported by the OMs (operational managers).

Additional Peak Contingency

Some sites have suggested the need for additional PDAs to what has been provided for peak. We do have the ability to support sites who require additional PDAs. If you require additional PDAs email your OM and Special Event Planner (see details below) with your PDA requirements detailing:

How many Peak PDA you have already been provided with,
Details on the operational demand and how many PDAs you require. The OM and special event planner will evaluate the need and make provisions for additional PDAs either by rebalancing allocation or sending out further PDAs from the peak contingency pot

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Awaiting confirmation of the below.

Photo On Delivery

the software to capture the photo doesn’t work on the old tc75s. That was a Commercial decision and the customer/s knows we are going to be using these at peak so will not get photos for items when the old pdas are used.

Everyday's a 'special' day in Royal Mail...

DOM
Not sure why we were given old PDAs which had been decommissioned and all their chargers taken away

Quality Systems Specialist

From Monday 28th February the business will no longer support the old TC75 PDAs - any TC75 devices left in the operation will be turned off.

Please search your unit for these devices and return to Barcode Warehouse. 15,000 PDAs are still waiting to be returned.

To identify the old PDA devices, the manufacturer name SYMBOL will be displayed on the front of the device.
Old CT75 PDAs and the return address:

They've probably been returned to the same warehouse the census forms were sitting in
