Part Timers contract change
How have other offices managed this in their revisions? Obviously with the drop to 37 hours for FT'ers PT'ers who were working 3 days have to drop their hours to match the new attendance hours. Lots of PT staff have been on mixed 20-25 hour contracts. I have heard of an office where a group of PTers refused to accept the drop of hours and asked to attend an extra day once in the 4 week cycle to make up their hours. Wonder what other offices did whether people who wanted to stay as 3 day cover duties were forced to drop their hours to match the reduced new contracts

Re: Part Timers contract change
Why do the PTs need to change their hours? In DOs they start later than FT

There is no requirement for part time staff to drop their contracted hours with the introduction of the SWW.jessicarabbit wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022, 22:54Obviously with the drop to 37 hours for FT'ers PT'ers who were working 3 days have to drop their hours to match the new attendance hours.

Re: Part Timers contract change
Our PTs all work 3 days a week covering 3 full timers days off. So for example before they covered 3 X 8 hour days meaning a 24 hour contract. As the FT day is now shorter the 3 days they cover are 7 hours long so in effect they only work 21 hours a week. This is known as stranded hours. What should happen is that in a resign once they sign for a new 3 day cover job it is expected that they take the associated drop in contract hours or find an alternative way to make the time up.

How does that work with the mantra of working all paid hours?

Re: Part Timers contract change
Your reps and your managers have to use their grey cells.
Without knowing anything about your office it is hard to say but:
They start earlier reducing early IPS/prep overtime in the office.
Hybrid duties - delivery/collection or delivery/callers office to make up the hours.
Extra lapsing.
They don't have to accept a drop in hours but ultimately that decision is theirs to make.
If they want to keep the same duty structure then they opt for a reduction in their contracted hours.

Re: Part Timers contract change
Yes and No. In our office we've got the choice of dropping hours or attending for an hour or so on a random day as dictated by the managers. OK, its an option, but its a pretty crap one. Its deliberate obstruction. If they can find an hours work on one of my days off they can surely find 30 mins a day when im in the office.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 07:32There is no requirement for part time staff to drop their contracted hours with the introduction of the SWW.jessicarabbit wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022, 22:54Obviously with the drop to 37 hours for FT'ers PT'ers who were working 3 days have to drop their hours to match the new attendance hours.
