RMCtv : D2D's from a separate bundle raises it's ugly head again
Zareena 'People are my thing-But I have no fricking idea how a DO works!' Brown : Chief People Officer
We are trying to raise the profile of this product its critical.
Everybody understands that this mail is paid for and it should be delivered in the work the same way as our addressed mail albeit over a longer period of time.
The recent table top revisions activity should have built in prep time for these and recent studies and trials have proven that if we can do this and talk to our posties about the standard operating procedures, we can achieve great quality of service.
Now a few years ago, we did a regional trial of a collation machine with promising results, but we needed more contracts to make a stand alone collation solution work, and if it comes collated, we really do need to avoid the prep time by delivering door to door from a separate bundle so that we can pay for the investment
As our operations continue to evolve, we will explore new ways to improve processing and indoor preparation of these items to achieve a more efficient delivery model.
For instance, we want to explore other options, such as using the letter sequencing machine.
We're in the early stages of discussion in relation to this and we'd welcome your ideas.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I recall someone from Canada warning us of this very thing from Moya's time over there - serious trouble if you tried to put your separate bundle in the frame to avoid juggling two out on delivery.
The machine stops.

They'd need to be in some sort of envelope with an address on as:
* Without being in an envelope the thin paper that they're printed on would cause way to many jams. We'd just send to straight to manual rather than having constant jams in the machines
* To be sequenced they need to have an address printed on them and have full route and tag codes printed on them, including delivery point info otherwise they'd get rejected by the machines

As every company is being encouraged to go green, I would imagine over the next several years these will become more scarce as firms will go digital, and send the info via social media platforms instead of using paper. Thoughts anyone

Yes, there is the argument about 'server farms' and what their output is but those farms are 'over there out of sight' so they don't matter.

Oh for pity's sake not this again.
Can't these people just get out of their office and do an actual delivery duty, just for one day.
They'd soon see why these hair brained schemes dreamed up over coffee and biscuits in their offices are completely unworkable on the ground.

Forget this whole d2d idea! It really is so stupid!... Royal mail should just have a monthly magazine!....sell advertisement space, delivered to every house in the UK!. Have news items! Highlight royal mail services and products! Etc...even have the TV listings.... Almost the courier magazine for the general public! This company is so stupid and backward it thinks delivering a single leaflet is the way to go...

What is this machine they speak of? Considering how much our MC sends us as manual, not a hope could they prep our D2D!

I thought about this a few years ago, get kids involved writing letters etc, celebs (proper ones though) with stories, cookery things, England captain etc etc the list could be endless and something for everyone.Tinoblade wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 17:51Jesus..... it pains me how obvious that is and I didn't even consider itcheesetoastie wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 16:03Forget this whole d2d idea! Delivery would, subject of the scamps at Ofcom be free who knows how big it could get.
I was going to do a big write up to Royal Mail, but they pissed me off so I thought feck it.
Not saying cause I didn't it didn't happen lol but perhaps they have thought of something similar and feel it's not warranted.

Or "prep" them straight onto the "excess" D2D Yorkie, still in strappex with walk label on...2yearpostie wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 15:38I wouldnt worry guys even if its implemented almost all posties will just ignore it and prep them into one bundle as we know that works.
