Part time to full time agreement

Post by Tinoblade »

Does anybody know is there an actual agreement that states if you work full time hours consistently you're contract will at least be looked at. I've searched but couldn't find anything l. Just wanted to know what the details actually were if anyone has any insight

From the Four Pillars (2018),
P/T colleagues hours will be jointly reviewed every March and September.
Where appropriate increased contracted hours will be offered to reflect the hours actually worked and planned.

Yet again, an ambiguous agreement from the CWU/Royal Mail

The get-out clause??

Where Appropriate

Who decides when is appropriate?

And the bonkers thing is that there are many part-timers who have been regularly working full-timer for the last 5 years BUT its not been deemed "appropriate" to increase their contractual hours to reflect this. What reasons could that be?? :hmmmm

Covering (long term) sickness.
Covering maternity/paternity leave.
Covering vacancies.

khynu, I think it may be better to post this question as a new topic or look in the blue shirts forum where a recent thread on "split maternity pay" contains information.

Very few posties are either on maternity leave or on sick leave for 5 years so I suspect many of these posties are actually covering potential full-time vacancies then
