summer leave in march?

Right at our office we get 'good weeks' between like may-aug, and a week in either april, or sep, but one of my bad weeks is march 28th, surely this is this years leave, can this be right? The first proper week in april is the 4th.

That week is also week 1 of 2022/23 leave at our place so perhaps that's normal,last week of the current leave is w/c 21/3.

funny enough a manager at our place has decided off his own back to just dish weeks leave in March without posties actually booking them and then refusing to cancel due them getting rid of some of last years leave even though you can roll 1 week over to next years , me thinks this might be a way to try and shaft some of the posties of there average holiday pay as March is the last month,and most have worked there socks off to try and cope with the mess of the shite revisons to give people a decent service and i bet bullinger didnt think of that one in his agreement .

it is , as one lad at ours never booked a week in March but was given it when he checked is leave sheet , he didnt have enough hours to take a weeks leave this year 21/22, so the manager took 7 hours out of his 22/ 23 leave entitlement to cover that week ? , so that doesnt sound right to me and yet the cwu have done f**k all about it .

You do not necessarily have the right to choose when you take your holiday and your employer can tell you when to take your leave.

However, your employer has to give you two days' notice for every day they want you to take. So if your employer is telling you that you must take four days' holiday, they need to give you eight days' notice of this.

If it is a reasonable request that is non-discriminatory, you cannot normally turn down your employer's instruction to take leave.

so can a manager take hours out of next years leave entitlement ? just to make a full weeks leave from the year before ? , because if you tried booking a week with not enough hours to cover that week it you couldnt have it as thats what happened to me .
