Injury + OH advice
Advice needed after sending countless emails & phonecalls to my local union branch and received zero response. Had two back injuries at work. Beginning of last year - off on sick for a while. Improved went back to work. Never got answers to what it was. Seemed to improve with physio or so I thought. Work for PF - parcels getting bigger bulkier and heavier. Back went again whilst at work end of last year so off on sick again. Paying for private physio, their concerned this has happened twice in a year now. What are my best options going forward? Have an appointment with OH coming up but wanted advice before this. I’m in my 30s and haven’t been at their long. Just over 3 years. At my wits end.

Have you got a sack trolley for large items?
OH may recommend light duties, or lighter duties in your case, not really knowledgeable about PF.
Will move this post into their forum as they would possibly know more.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Injury + OH advice
Unless you have had an X-ray / CT scan of your back it is hard to pin point what injuries you have and what approach of rehabilitation is needed. That said there is no cure for degenerate wear and tear back problems. The idea of physio is to strengthen the muscle which puts less strain on the damaged area..Injury reoccurrence is common and lifting heavy awkward size items is not ideal so soon after.
Knowing that Parcelforce handles heavy items I would be inclined to ask for a transfer to Royal Mail.

Re: Injury + OH advice
Its become very apparent that parcelforce loads are becoming heavier and more bulky, in other words the contracts are the crap that no one else wants, I see my dpd driver on my route everyday and his van looks nothing like mine , he laughs at my van regularly, our sales team must be laughed at with the prices we quote.
I have had 8 leads all with sales for months now and one I deliver to regularly says yes they had their quote but it was nearly twice as much…no wonder we are winning just the crap that no one else wants.
They won’t admit their prices are a disaster until it’s too late, nobody cares about this premium service(that does the same as every other company) anymore, the world has changed but unfortunately Parcelforce hasn’t, any company that uses seniority still pretty much sums it up
