I have been off work for a few weeks because of an injury and my manager rang me around the 14th day to ask me to send in a signed SSP form.

I did as requested but then started to think if this was the correct procedure as i know at the minute it is 28 days self cert and then also realized that i had never been asked to provide an SSP form before during any time off with sickness.

I still have plenty of sick leave and as i understand SSP only comes into play if that is exhausted?

Please could someone offer advice as i know i am not liked in my office by management because of my health issues and it has now got me thinking if their motives could be somehow sinister.

Have u exhausted your 6 months full pay in a 4 year period if so will go on half pay with ssp

After seven days you need a note from you GP

You only get company sick pay if employed for more than 12 months, otherwise SSP

It's 28 days self cert since the 10th December, to be reviewed on the 26th January...this was done by the government to take the pressure off doctors.

Was unaware of the 28 days but makes sense due to the pandemic

Best make sure it is still valid though as furlough has ended and people are back at work

Haha take pressure off doctors. It's OK for doctors not to see anyone even if you have found a lump which may be life threatening. But it's OK for all the nurses to see you to take your blood samples, blood pressure, etc, etc, etc and people say posties get paid for doing nothing. Makes my piss boil

Has PSP been updated to take into account the change to 28 days self cert? If it hasn't then PSP might think that there's no valid doctors note
