Resignation or formal conduct for RTA

Really stuck on decisions, do I just hand my resignation in ,DOM has basically asked for resignation first thing or will go to formal conduct, really wanted this job to succeed but I really feel I messed things up big time

Speak to your union rep first if you have joined up, if not join up now !, don't hand your job over just because the DOM demands it, don't give up without a fight, I never heard of a postman getting sacked for an RTA it would depend on the seriousness of it and what led up to it again your rep is your first call or Area Rep if you dont have a local rep.

Tried contacting my rep in the DO unfortunately he on annual leave, other on sick ,typical, going to phone the area rep first thing in morning, worried sick on what to do ,basically the Dom just gave me the choices before I left the office after my round finished

Speak to area rep asap sounds like you have a good case for harassment as well

Go for conduct as you never know. Also you will still get paid while it is going on.
Without knowing the full details, is it that bad that you think a conduct will get you the sack?
Even if, hang it out as you will still get paid.

Also, if you get away with it, and it's not really that bad then PM me...

Have to agree with going down the conduct code route if appropriate rather than dismissal.

We all have accidents, even if blameworthy. Unless the damage caused was because of being deliberately reckless with intent by your own actions, they will be hard to justify any dismissal for first offence.

Area Rep, Conduct Code and Honesty. All of the vans at my office are battered, if everyone who had a RTA resigned or was sacked, there would only be managers employed because they hate going out on delivery.

Yep Don't jump ...... make your DOM push you! Cheeky Bastard does he offer his resignation everytime he makes a mistake?

You must have really upset him for him to be pressing that hard. Never know a Postie get the sack for an RTA. This is what Unions are for (although we slag them down for most things) go through the process. Good Luck.
