We had an executive meeting in Birmingham yesterday and today .
We've been debating the situation around the QOS failures, etcetera, trying to get underneath it and understand the real reasons.

We made an absolute decision that we're going to mobilise our divisions and our area reps, our local reps, and our branches to get on top of this issue, discover fact from fiction, actually find out the officers that are in bad trouble, and come up with solutions to resolve them.

And we're going to insist that management work with us on there and set up this, this whole operation to turn this situation around.

Now what's in the debate, what's become clear is some of the failures are due to revisions that haven't landed or bad revisions that need to be put right some of its resourcing but some of it is sick.

Now sick the amount of people off not available from work at the moment is a problem not just for royal mail, but for the national health, for the railways of having to cancel all their rail, you know, all their trains, et cetera, in the midlands here for the ambulance service, so there's lots of problems all around.

The week before last I think with sick and annual leave we had something like twenty five thousand people unavailable.

So there is some problems around, how you cure that it may be different but where we got failing revisions, where we haven't got recruitment or management, haven't recruited to jobs that have been agreed, that's got to be put right.

So I want to say, and I want to say a big thankyou to everyone for doing what you have done given the circumstances.
I wanna thank our beleaguered, beleaguered reps that were at the forefront of this, and having to take the brunt of all this as well as doing revisions I want to thank them and just assure everyone that we're coming out, and we're gonna get this thing fixed once and for all.

But we need to push not just from the top, not just through our divisions, not just through our area reps. we need to push from locally as well from local reps.
So if you're in a situation where a manager is refusing to recruit to a job or refusing to look at solutions for what's going on at the moment, then you absolutely don't hang around, don't wait there, don't let people wallow in that situation, you get it to a disagreement, you get it Up to the area rep if necessary up through the divisions and I ask all our reps branches, field officials, everyone to now support this activity.

We cannot afford the people this country deserve about service, and our members deserve far, great publicity, and we've been getting over the last few weeks.

Accusing posties reluctant to changes as the reason why revisions weren't working. Signing a letter saying Tracked shouldn't prioritised over letters when posties all over the place were being given no other option. Pointing out there is no 70 hour limit so people can work on and on to clear the backlog. Saying there is no threat to the USO then defending the company's actions.
