Any ideas what this is on payslip this week?

Its part of the xmas bonus for those that did not get it first time around late dec, as i just got my xmas bonus this week as i was missed off for what ever reason.

£1.20 seems a strange amount though . I got the full (pro rata) amount in Dec for my contract hrs.

I got 41p and I worked s**t loads of overtime in December, I thought this payment was to compensate us up to the full £100 bonus payment from our Pro rata Xmas bonus as long as we did over 37 hrs/week in December.

I got 41p too so I think a mistake has been made as it should've been £5.41 so I'm expecting it to be corrected next week

£1.81 for me on 30 hours plus overtime, someone else who was made up to 35 hours received £0.63.

So, not just me then. I was over 37 hrs including overtime, every week of December. If it was to make you up to full time bonus, should have got just under £19 , not £1.20?

I didn't do any overtime in Christmas 2020 as I was off deliveries but I've just checked my pay slips on the App and for Christmas 2019 I got £8.84 extra in January 2020.

Wow i thought this was tied to xmas bonus but looking at what you lot got vs what i got which was £100.

I have a part time contract 18.5 hrs per week, but during xmas time i was bumped up to full time (37hr's) and did 13hrs over time per week so is this why i got £100?, not asked my manager regarding it as to which part is which as i got 2 payments of £100 each.

But guess most posties are almost full time hours, and this incentive is more geared to getting part-timers to do more?

There are two elements to The Underpin Payment.

The first is the payment made in Dec based on what contract you have (or are made up
to) for the Christmas period.

The second made in January is a supplementary payment paid based on the OT SSPR pay you've received throughout the previous year (from the previous December).

This is the extract from the document from 2015 which explains it (obviously the specific dates will be slightly out but the principle is the same):

A £100 payment (pro-rata for part time employees) will be paid on pay date 18th December (24th December for monthly paid employees). Payments will be non-pensionable and subject to tax and National Insurance.



Payment in December will be made against contractual hours in week commencing 23rd November (November salaries for monthly paid employees). Term Time Working employees will have payment referenced against their average contractual hours after the reduction for Term Time Working arrangements.



A second payment on 15th January 2016 (or January salaries for monthly paid employees) will be paid which will top up payments to part time employees in accordance with the proportion of hours paid through Single Standard Pay Rate between the periods 29th December 2014 (pay date Friday 2nd January 2015) to 27th December 2015 (pay date Thursday 24th December 2015) inclusive. For monthly paid employees, those SSPR hours paid in January 2015-December 2015 salaries inclusive will be assessed.

So. I got screwed. Again (as well as day off being xmas day)! Was full time until November, went part time but still got full time hrs in, and got less than someone part time till November, then getting made up to full time for a month. Sucks .

I only get an extra £2.41 but have worked full time hours virtually all year, you do wonder what calculations our HR dept for used to calculate the payments.

I do agree that the figures people are quoting that they've received (including myself - mere pennies) do seem
to be out of skew with what I've received previous years, I haven't attempted to work it out using the procedure,
life's too short.
