Lapsing farce

Can someone tell me why I have to drive 2 miles in the opposite direction to do lapsing before I start my round and then cant complete my own round every day.only taking tracked on the parts of my walk I cant do
If i concerntrated on my own round I could get twice as much done in the time on my round than on lapsing with all the travel.
Is this company policy or can I refuse.
I thought all post and letters were equally important

Wouldn't RM be better off lapsing the walks nearest to the DO, so they could be done either on the way out to the normal walk or on the way back to the DO

Your not paid to use your common sense,just do what they asked when your times up take back what you couldn't do we don't get paid enough to stress about it

Lapsing should only happen, when there is sufficent time within your duty time to complete it, if you don’t have time, you should ask your manager why you are being asked to lapse, has something changed?

Yes that’s the theory but the reality will be they will give you lapsing. If you can’t manage it, bring it to the line managers attention. He might offer you claim o/t against it or leave some of your own walk behind. I will be surprised if takes the lapsing back.

Depends, suppose if the lapsing duty hasn't been out the previous day it takes priority as it is two days mail

Union should be all over this, it’s so easy to knock managers arguments down! ONLY IF THERE IS TIME WITHIN YOUR DUTY TIME, should you lapse, period!!! A classic case of a union trying to make sure you have enough work for your hours, hijacked by junior and senior managers!!!

A walk at my old office had a section of lapsing 21 miles away from the posties main walk!!!
